Euless Trinity on the Road for Another State Title

If you are a football fan in Texas and don't follow high school football, then you are missing out some amazing football. I can understand this a little if you came from a high school that had a horrible football team. But other than that you have no excuse.

Euless Trinity is on the road to another 5A State Title. If they achieve this goal, and they will, it would be their third in four years. This is what we like to call a dynasty. Trinity has been the team to beat, and no one has accomplished this goal since September 2007.

This week is the Region I final. Euless Trinity v. Allen. Another rematch in the post-season. Last year it was Trinity v. Odessa Permian, we all know how that ended. Allen has revenge on it's mind and will do everything that it can to put the hurt on Trinity. The only lose that Allen had during the regular season came at the hands of the mighty Trojans.

However, Allen is a very different team at this point in the season and will be better prepared to stop the Trinity run game than previously. They will be without their starting quarterback Matt Brown. Tucker Carter, who lead Allen past a good Odessa Permian team, will be in his place. This gives an edge to Trinity.

If Allen wants to pull out a win they will need to shut down both the run and spread game of the Trinity offense. Plano was able to stop the run, but was not ready for the spread package that Trinity had to offer.

For Trinity to win they need to keep on keeping on. Their formula is working well in the era of the Spread Offense, which is something they know how to use, making them a double threat.

Game time: 4p.m. Saturday at Texas Stadium.
